Experience with MS Word as a Student:
Microsoft Word has been an academic constant for me both at Florida State University (FSU) and throughout my K–12 schooling. Writing essays, making reports, and formatting academic papers have all benefited from it. Its extensive feature set, which includes advanced formatting options and track changes, has proven especially helpful for team projects and intricate tasks. But because of Google Docs' smooth collaboration features and real-time editing capabilities, I've noticed that I tend to choose them. My favorite option is Google Docs because of how simple it is to collaborate on projects and share documents with colleagues, especially when working in groups and on projects that need to be updated frequently.
Reflection on ISTE Standards for Educators:
There is a thorough framework available for incorporating technology into teaching practices in the ISTE Standards for Educators. "Facilitate Learning with Technology," which highlights the use of technology to provide interesting and customized learning experiences, is the standard that most appeals to me. This criterion emphasizes how crucial it is to use technology to suit the requirements of a diverse student body and promote creative learning settings. My understanding of how technology might improve instruction and facilitate differentiated learning has grown as a result of my investigation into this standard. I'm interested in doable tactics for successfully integrating these technologies and how to handle any obstacles in a variety of teaching environments.
Digital Natives and Their Use of Technology:
The phrase "digital native" describes people who have spent their entire childhood surrounded by digital technology and who were usually adept at using a variety of tech tools from an early age. Considering that I am a digital native, I find that my friends and I use technology very differently than many of our professors, who are frequently referred to as "digital immigrants." Although I am used to using technology for a variety of activities and integrating numerous digital tools at once, many teachers still largely rely on conventional methods and may find it difficult to accept new tech tools. The learning process may be impacted by this generational divide, which may result in a mismatch between instructional strategies and students' technical proficiency.
