blog post 10 Reflection on Assignment 5: PowerPoint Interaction In completing Assignment 5, I acquired new skills in creating interactive content using PowerPoint, specifically in designing a hyperlinked jeopardy game for a Harry Potter-themed activity. I learned how to incorporate buttons, hyperlinks, and action settings to create a dynamic, interactive experience for students. One challenge I encountered was the confusion between PowerPoint’s desktop and regular versions, which had similar names but different features. Next time, I will explore these features more thoroughly to avoid issues and ensure smoother functionality for interactive elements. Using Data Collection Tools as a Teacher I envision gathering information on student involvement and comprehension using Qualtrics and similar tools as a future middle school English teacher. For instance, after reading a novel, I may make surveys to gauge how well students comprehend literary themes or character development. I could...
blog 9   During my K–12 distance learning experiences, I used tools like Zoom, Google Classroom, and Microsoft Teams. With capabilities like screen sharing, breakout spaces, and collaborative documents that promoted connection and participation, these technologies offered crucial resources for distance learning. While Zoom's breakout rooms allowed for small group conversations that resembled in-person classes, Google Classroom was especially useful for assigning assignments and providing feedback. But even with these resources, it was difficult to stay focused and engaged in a completely virtual setting, particularly when there was little opportunity for in-person interaction. Although I haven't used them, I'd like to test interactive learning platforms like Flipgrid and Kahoot! since they seem to promote student participation and could make online learning more enjoyable and engaging. blog 8   alyssa22x.weebly.com this is my website name, online QR codes cost money so i couldn’t make one.  I learned a lot about how to make a user-friendly website while working on the Web Design assignment for my fourth-grade science teacher website. I arranged the calendar, pictures, and links in a tidy manner using design concepts like alignment. To make it easier for parents and children to notice what's coming up, I, for instance, introduced a vivid calendar to highlight significant dates and events. To make the website more interesting, I also added images that dealt with science-related subjects. Although I had fun creating the style, I initially had trouble getting the links to function properly. All things considered, this experience taught me how to create informative and aesthetically pleasing website skills that will be helpful in my future work, particularly in the digital or educational fields. Making a multi-subject scavenger hunt is an inventive method to empl...
Annenberg provides a vast array of professional development opportunities for educators, ranging from video workshops to podcasts. Employ video workshops and use the facilitator guides and other resources with larger groups. Video libraries and other useful tools for teacher development are also available. Although colleges and universities need to obtain a license to use Annenberg content in their classes, all resources are free for K–12 educators. https://tinyurl.com/3jnp6yt6 portfolio 20
blog post 7 Teacher Pages on a School Website Keeping up-to-date class pages on their websites, which include crucial information for parents and students, is a requirement for many schools. Class schedules, syllabus information, deadlines for assignments, and resources such as links to online textbooks or teaching aids are frequently included on these pages. Teachers may also publish announcements, project instructions, and communication choices on their websites. Improving openness and educating families about what's going on in the classroom are the goals. Using Technology for Professional Responsibilities My goal is to use technology to simplify my work duties by employing platforms like Google Classroom for student communication and assignment administration. I also intend to track my work toward curriculum goals and manage lesson preparations. I would use programs for grading in order to streamline the evaluation procedure. I can manage classroom responsibilities more effic...
blog post 6 Blogging Experience I've found that blogging has given me an insightful and creative outlet, allowing me to explore a variety of subjects and improve my writing. I like being able to interact with a larger group of people and start conversations through shares and comments. Blogging's flexibility allows me to try out several forms and styles, from a more informal to a more official one. A limitation, though, is that it might be difficult to continuously provide interesting, original content. I've discovered that the secret to keeping flow and content fresh is to plan ahead and schedule posts. I've learned how important it is to change content according to audience preferences thanks to this procedure.   Web 2.0 Tool for Teaching: Generation Genius Generation Genius is a fantastic Web 2.0 resource that enables students to share quick videos in response to questions, promoting multimedia-based interactive learning. blog post 3 When instructors are constructing lesson plans and helping students create original work, they must take copyright and fair use into account. It is important for educators to make sure that any content they utilize from outside sources like textbooks, photos, or videos complies with copyright regulations. Although limited use of copyrighted content for educational purposes is permitted under fair use, it's necessary to recognize the restrictions. For example, it may be acceptable to use brief summaries or sections of a book, but it may be against the law to give students access to the full text without authorization. I've discovered that there are restrictions on even instructional use, and that when in doubt, permission should be requested, and due credit should be given. With the expanding usage of digital tools, academic dishonesty is a major worry regarding technology implementation concerns. I would use a mix of preventive and corrective techniques in my classr...
